The Sun FireTM V120 servers are single-processor, thin (1U) servers designed primarily for use by telecommunications carriers and internet service providers. They are also suitable for use within corporate customer networks, wherever there is a need to maximize the density of high-performance Solaris server.

The Sun Fire 120 servers are UltraSPARC® IIIi based machines that are rackmountable. The servers come with the Solaris™ 10 Operating System (OS), the Java™ Enterprise System, and the Advanced Lights Out Manager software preinstalled as a software image on the boot drive. The server features four Gigabit Ethernet ports, one 10BASE-T Ethernet port for ALOM, two serial ports, two USB ports, one UltraSCSI LVD port, and up to 16 gigabytes of memory.

The Sun Fire V120 servers are identical to the Netra 120 Servers except that the Sun Fire V120 is powered by an AC supply.
