The IBM 8 Gbps SFP+ LW Optical Transceiver module for IBM System x® (00FM472) is a multi-rate (8.5/4.25 Gbps) Fiber Channel Small Form-Factor Pluggable Plus (SFP+) hot-pluggable transceiver. This transceiver module plugs into an SFP+ high-speed Fiber Channel (FC) data port, providing 8 Gbps optical connectivity for up to 10Km (at full lane rate up to 3.3Km with IBM G8264CS and CN4093 due to buffer credits operation) using this 8 Gbps FC transceiver module provides excellent performance in port-dense networks with challenging thermal environments, and is compliant with the SFF-8472 10.3 specification.
